About the Event

What: Countdown to King Cake

When: Jan 5th 2026, 8pm-1am

Where: Southport Music Hall (200 Monticello Ave New Orleans LA 70121

What to expect:
– Dance competition of many of the area’s favorite dance teams!
– Music by Glen David Andrews before and after the competition
– Vendors with your favorite Mardi Gras items
– a King Cake “toast” at midnight with king cakes from several of your favorite king cake bakeries!
– Mardi Gras themed cocktails
– Friends from many of the area’s great Carnival Krewes
– A carnival inspired picture booth!

Cost -$10 admission (ALL monies taken at the door go towards the Dance team prizes!)

Prize awards for the winning dance teams will be collected from the admissions and donations, so please invite all of your friends to join the fun! Our goal is for 100% of the proceeds to go towards the winning dance teams and the causes of their choice.

Additionally, we will award the winning dance teams with their own “Countdown to King Cake Dance-Off” Championship belt! Can you smell what the Rock(ettes) are cookin’?!
